Director of Nursing Long Term Care

This is a Full-time position in Las Vegas, NV posted May 7, 2022.

Duties/Responsibilities Include: Management responsibilities including maintaining exceptional quality of care.

Assist with compliance and ensure effective communication with all levels of nursing staff.

Meet the nursing needs of all residents.

Coordinate and direct care planning for nursing services.

Ensure that the legal procedures, nursing practices, and work standards are met as per facility policies and procedures and all regulatory requirements Collaborate with the healthcare facility management team in leading the clinical team Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of medical records.

Maintain and disseminate knowledge of general nursing practice.

Assist with interviewing, hiring and orienting of new nursing staff.

Maintain flexibility with work schedule to address unpredictable needs of the facility.

Maintain a current survey roster.

Maintain a skin team and assure that rounds are completed at least weekly.

Review accident/incident reports for completeness, assure appropriate follow-up and potential or actual resident reportable issues.

Assess individual or facility trends through incident report tracking.

Assess reported complaints or concerns regarding resident care and ensure appropriate follow-up/resolution.

Establish, implement and participate in a quality assurance program for the Nursing and Resident Care Services Departments Participate in admissions procedure including, but not limited to, screening potential residents and assisting Administration in establishing/maintaining admission criteria.

Complete resident chart review for review of clinical issues.

Recruitment, retention, and training of nurses Participates in the strategic and long range planning of the health care facility.

Ensures the ongoing evaluation and innovation of services provided by organized nursing services and the organization, and promotes continuous quality improvement.

Requirements Include: Current New York State RN license in good standing required.

Minimum 3-5 years experience in Long-Term Care settings.

Previous experience as a Director of Nursing preferred.

Strong clinical background and knowledge required.

Prior Nursing Leadership Experience required.

Excellent Communication and Leadership Skills.
