Project Scheduler and Cost Coordinator

This is a Full-time position in Las Vegas, NV posted September 18, 2022.

Thyssen Mining is a full service underground mining contractor working predominantly in North America. Thyssen Mining is looking for an energetic and detail oriented individual to join our team in the position of Project Scheduler and Cost Coordinator at our office in Las Vegas, NV.

With limited supervision this position will assist Senior management and project managers on US projects. They will coordinate efforts with engineering, procurement, accounting and other operation personnel to report on US projects status for effective monitoring and control of the projects. This position will support the US General Manager and frontline leaders to deliver commercial outcomes across the project. Critical to this role will be the effective of the P6 Schedule, review of commercial and contractual matters arising on projects and the development and implementation of a cost monitoring model in liaison with other Thyssen offices.


5-10 years of related experience in the industrial, mining and/or construction industries.
College and/or university degree in business, finance, accounting, administration or related discipline.
A minimum of 5 years experience using Primavera P6 is required.
Applied knowledge of Project Management, Project Controls and “earned value” principles, including extensive experience with Electronic Document Management Systems.
Extensive experience in contract management practices, including best practice commercial/risk policies and procedures, claims management, reporting and dispute resolution.
Ability to review and develop new processes and streamline transactional activities.
Strong ability to work effectively independently and with all levels of the project team; proven record for leading a small team of project controls professionals.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
Able to use a variety of computer software, including word processing, database and spreadsheet applications; intermediate to expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat.
Detail oriented and customer focused.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.
Able to gain comprehensive knowledge and understanding of organization’s operations, policies and procedures, and personnel.
Expert organizational skills.

Thyssen Mining offers a competitive compensation package which includes a salary ranging from $85,000 – $100,000 annually, medical, dental and vision benefits, a 401K plan, life and AD&D insurance, vacation and sick time.
