The hospital has long been referred to as The Heart Hospital by residents, due to its solid reputation as a leader in cardiac care. The hospital offers 24-hour emergency services and is nationally recognized for its diabetes, weight loss (bariatric) surgery, cardiac, and stroke programs. Desert Springs Hospital won the Gold Medal for Best Hospital in Las Vegas by the Las Vegas Review Journal in 2020 and 2021.

Job Description

Responsible for nursing care and performing technical nursing procedures as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an approved program in practical (vocational) nursing

License/Certification

Current LPN license in the state of Nevada. Current BCLS Certification.

Other

Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.

Note

An LPN graduate is a nurse who has completed a course of study at a school of nursing and is eligible for the NCLEX. The LPN graduate performs directly under the supervision of the Resource Nurse or designee. An interim LPN license must be granted by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
