Ground Station Flight Engineer (Level 3)

This is a Contract position in Las Vegas, NV posted June 18, 2022.

Specialized System Engineer that acts as a Flight Engineer/system expert. Performs computer administrations functions to include software installations and upgrades, user account and hardware maintenance. Performs real-time troubleshooting of complex hardware/software anomalies with analysis and evaluation of asset under test. Executes readiness tests to verify system under test functionality. Potential to act as an active crew member supporting ground station operations. Requires formal crew member training and must earn qualification and maintain currency.

Performs ground station pre-flights/post-flights and ensures asset readiness for flight test. Ensures all paperwork and configuration management tracking is correct prior to test. Will write and issue test documentation to perform maintenance tasks and maintains ground station configuration.

**Must be able to complete and maintain an FAA Third class medical certificate**

**Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.**

A level 3 employee typically has 5 to 10 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in technical major, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience

Ability to acquire a Top Secret security clearance.

Have, or be able to obtain and retain a FAA Third Class medical certificate.

Desired Skills:

Have, or be able to obtain, and retain DoD IAT Level II certification (Security +).

Windows and/or Linux operating systems certification.

Complex troubleshooting/problem solving skills.

Familiarity with RF technology.

Experience working with fiber optics.

Knowledge of avionics systems and/or flight test concepts.

Familiarity with Cisco and/or Juniper network equipment.

Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows operating systems.

Must be willing to work different shifts and weekend.
