Communications and Vegas Young Professionals Coordinator

Vegas Chamber

This is a Full-time position in Las Vegas, NV posted May 25, 2021.

Works closely with Vice President of Communications in developing media opportunities to inform members, prospects and the general public about Chamber programs, resources, partnerships and advocacy efforts.

A driver of social media across all Chamber and the Chamber’s Leadership Foundation social media channels.

Responsible for coordinating Vegas Young Professionals programming, a program of the Chamber’s Leadership Foundation of Greater Las Vegas.

Serves as staff liaison to the VYP Advisory Council and works with Foundation Executive Director to enhance VYP membership, develop programming, interact with volunteers, and drive communications and event attendance.


· Crafts and coordinates social media content for Chamber and Foundation social media platforms

· Writes and edits scripts for events, talking points, press releases, newsletter and magazine content

· Monitors incoming member press releases and utilizes for content

· Maintains media distribution lists and archives of press coverage

· Works with VP of Communications on publicity for major events

· Actively supports and attends all VYP events and Chamber events as needed

· Produces the VYP monthly e-newsletter as well as other VYP communications.

Procures web and social media content.

Ensures VYP social media and website are updated regularly

· Works with the VYP Council and Chamber Events team to plan and produce VYP events that are profitable and well-attended, communicating budget details for approval to the Executive Director well in advance of events

· Serves as primary staff liaison to VYP Advisory Council and committees

· Responsible for updating the VYP database and for recruiting and retaining VYP+ members

· Other duties as assigned


· Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations, Marketing, a related field or equivalent experience

· Experience in public relations, event planning, and social media required

· Excellent error-free written and verbal communications, proofreading and editing skills

· Photography, videography and video editing skills and experience desired

· Good organizational capabilities; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with limited supervision while maintaining a positive attitude

· Self-starter, multifaceted and highly organized individual with ability to work flexible hours

· Excellent customer service skills and ability to work positively and productively with team members, media, volunteers and the general public

· Advanced level capabilities in Microsoft Word, Constant Contact, Excel, PowerPoint, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Outlook, website management, Canva, and database management preferred

· Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and be productive in a remote work environment

· Must have a valid driver’s license and full-time use of a vehicle suitable for transporting materials to and from events as required

· Must be able to work flexible hours during the work week to accommodate morning and evening events and meetings

· Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds
