Certified Athletic Trainer

We welcome your application.MAIN FUNCTION:The certified athletic trainer is charged with managing the health care of participating athletes, including, but not limited to, first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, appropriate modalities, prevention, rehabilitation programs and medical referrals.

Athletic training services for all sport-related events will be provided in accordance with current contracts.

This position is accountable to the System Director of Rehabilitation Services and Orthopedic Service Line Director.EDUCATION:Minimum of bachelor’s degree in health related field with current certification from the Board of Certification for athletic trainers.

EXPERIENCE:Minimum of one to two years athletic training experience in a sports environment preferred.

CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:CPR is required within 90 days of hire date.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Appreciable physical effort or strain; occasionally repetitiveefforts may involve lifting, pushing and pulling.

Must be able to assist with or transfer patients of various weights/heights.

Must be able to lift at least 30 independently and at least 150 with the assistance of another person.

Must be able to push carts containing medical and athletic equipment.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time, have good mobility skills and be able to walk long distances.

Must be able to carry medical, first aid and athletic training kit and coolers for long distances.

EXPOSURE CATEGORY: Category I.

Will have close contact with athletes and is likely to come in contact with blood and body fluids.

INFECTION CONTROL: Performs all aspects of universal precautions when engaging in the care of athletes and patients.
