The Utility Porter position contributes to the success of Buca di Beppo by cleaning kitchen and restaurant equipment, removing refuse from the premises, and cleaning small wares, glasswares, and plate-ware.

The Kitchen Utility’s responsibility is to achieve and provide a sanitary work environment and maintain a clean and orderly dining atmosphere.

Reporting Relationship: The Utility Porter reports to the Manager on Duty.

The Utility Porter works directly with the Back of the House as a team.

Essential Functions Statement(s) * Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand.

* Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.

* Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.

* Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars.

* Sweep and scrub floors.

* Clean garbage cans with water or steam.

* Sort and remove the trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.

* Clean and prepare various foods for cooking or serving.

* Prepare and package individual place settings.

* Service, clean, and supply restrooms.

* Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them.

* Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.

* Unload shipments; stock and restock inventory.

* Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.

* Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

* Work as a team and use positive communication skills at every opportunity.

* Clean, stock, and maintain workstation throughout the shift.

* Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
