Billing Specialist

Syracuse Area Health is accepting applications for a Full-Time Billing Specialist in the Patient Financial Services Billing department.

This position is responsible for the insurance billing process between the hospital and insurance companies, federal agencies & third party payers.

Audit patient accounts to ensure procedure, charges and coding procedures are accurate.

Collects payment from commercial insurance, state & federal agencies.

Qualified candidates must possess:Associates degree preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent Word processing; excel knowledge, and basic windows based computer skills3 years business office experience with insurance/collection experience is requiredIndependent problem-solving skills and self-directed work experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWell organized and detail orientedHours are Monday-Friday, 8:00a-5:00p If offered a position, proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 or proof of eligibility for an accommodation/exception under applicable law is required to be in compliance with CMS guidelines
