– The Wencor Group Job Title: Assembly Repair Department: Operations Reports to: Department ManagerFortner Engineering is an FAA Certified Repair Stations specializing in the hydraulic component maintenance requirement airlines, repair stations, OEM’s and distributors worldwide.

Through decades of experience, Fortner Engineering has developed a broad range of repair capabilities for all commercial aircraft types.

A key component of this position is to improve work flow, implementing standard work and instill continuous improvement through problem solving methodology.

Participation and cooperation with and in corporate strategic programs and other Wencor businesses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Repairs and/or assembles small aircraft components that require precise placement.Orders parts for repairs and assemblies.

Documents repairs and assembly work.

Uses hand tools and shop power tools.

Reads blueprints.

Performs testing and interprets resultsAssemble more complex components that require precise placementRead and interpret drawings and blueprints with GD requirements.Design and make simple tooling to facilitate in the assembly of parts.Look for process improvementsAssist Assembly Supervisor as requiredIssuance of FAA release documentation pertinent to all items released to service by the Repair Station.Inspection continuity, documentation, and final inspection of all items processed by the Repair Station.Identifying, controlling, and segregating maintenance items in a serviceable or unserviceable state.Maintaining traceability on all parts and materials.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have the Federal Aviation Regulation Part 65, Subpart E (Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language).Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
