Description: SUMMARY/OBJECTIVEThe primary responsibilities include prospecting and building relationships with independent insurance agents.

The objective of a Business Development Specialist (BDS) is a 2-phase approach.

First phase includes prospecting new potential agency partners, establishing if they are an ideal partner to contract with, onboarding & training the agency staff on appetite and submission process, and building a solid mutual working relationship.

The second phase is focused on production and agency management, which includes obtaining new business submissions, tracking production, ensuring efficient and effective communication with Underwriting to generate quotes and binders as well as managing any conflict, messaging, branding, and agency management issues that should arise with our contracted agency partners.The Business Development Specialist (BDS) will be vitally critical in rolling out Method’s Work Comp Program across the country as we expand into new states and territories.

As Method grows, the BDS will be managing a range of the distribution partners by working with 150-350 agencies across multiple states.

This individual will serve as the main point of contact and liaison between Distribution and Underwriting.

It will be expected to produce regular reports both formally and informally on activities and results of these designated targeted agency relationships under this role’s management.

There will be specified premium objectives and goals to hit each month within the designated territory and with those agency partners.This position is for candidates that are competitive, willing to learn, work hard and have fun.

Requirements: TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, G Suite, or similar software* Medical Coding Knowledge: CPT, ICDWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDSThis position operates in a professional office setting and is largely a sedentary role.

However, somefiling is necessary and may require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stoolas necessary.POSITION & EXPECTED HOURSThisis a full-time, salary exempt position.

Typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, from8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Some flexibility in hours is allowed, however, the employee must be available duringthe ” Core” work hours of 9:30 am to 3:30 pm and must work 37.5 hours each week.TRAVELUp to 25% of the time is expected to be dedicated to travel.
