Senior Software Engineer – Las Vegas, NV

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Use best practices and experience to design, code, build, and test software solutions
  • Determine best technical solutions and document detailed design based on requirements.
  • Lead application build team for selected projects
  • Solid organizational skills and focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Providing accurate and timely estimates for tasks
  • Provide support and leadership in critical production support issue resolution. Role will be final scalation point for supporting application and performing root cause analysis.
  • Support the team for application availability, reliability and stability 7-by-24-by-365
  • Conduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan
  • Lead team efforts to achieve timely resolution of all production issues meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements
  • Conduct code review to ensure the work delivered by the team is of high-quality standards
  • Mentor other developers on coding standards, problem solving, and application architecture

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree or High School Diploma/GED and 4 additional years of experience as stated in each bullet below.
  • 5+ years of development and testing experience in any of the following: C#; .Net; VB.NET; Java; Python; C++ or other high-level programming language
  • 5+ years of experience working with Sybase or/and SQL Database
  • 5+ years of Senior level Applications Developer experience
  • 5+ years of SDLC experience (i.e. Waterfall or Agile)
  • Experience with Database Design/Programming (Stored Procedures)
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting, however, may be required to work from home temporarily due to space limitations
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

  • Healthcare Industry Experience
  • TriZetto Facets or Cognizant Application experience
  • Healthcare EDI Experience
  • Experience with JavaScript, React, Angular
  • Utilization of CI/CD tools such as Kubernetes or Jenkins
