IT Software Engineer – Remote

Global Data Insight Analytics organization is looking for a Natural Language Processing/Machine Learning Engineer focused on building and driving the strategy forward for our internal Data Science/AI/ML platform.

This role will work in a small, cross-functional team.

The position will collaborate directly and continuously with other engineers, business partners, product managers and designers, and will release early and often.

The team you will be working on is focused on building Mach1ML platform
– an AI/ML enablement platform to democratize Machine Learning across Ford enterprise (like Uber’s Michelangelo, Facebook’ and FBLearner).

In this position, you will gain experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) concepts by developing and/or supporting Question Answering (QA) systems.

You will also be exposed to data science procedures and algorithms for ML and NLP.

What you’ll be able to do: Work closely with Product Manager and Product Owner to deliver machine learning use cases using agile methodology.

Lead and work with software and ML engineers to tackle challenging AI problems.

Work specifically on the integration team to drive forward Platform integration and AI/ML adoption with other internal and external systems.

Help innovate by researching innovative algorithms.

Share knowledge with the team.

Act as a consultant to the business vs.

an order taker.

Lead by example in use of Paired Programming for cross training/upskilling, problem solving, and speed to delivery.

Demonstrate latest ML/NLP/ GCP technologies.

Drive software craftsmanship, SOLID principles, 12 factor applications.

Learn and emphasize the importance of GDIA’s 10 data tenants.

The minimum requirements we seek: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field 5 years of software engineering experience 5 years of relational database experience with MongoDB or SQL 3 years of Angular experience 3 years of Java Spring Boot experience Our preferred requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field Previous experience with Ford standard development processes, tools, technologies.

Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform
– specifically the AI Platform and other GSP AI/ML services.

Experience in delivering machine learning software products using iterative approach Experience in programming concepts such as Paired Programming, Test Driven Development, etc.

Experience in supporting continuous improvement by investigating development alternatives.

Experience applying agile practices to solution delivery.

Experience with Machine Learning Technologies.

Experience and good understanding of Machine Learning / Deep Learning Models / Python / Natural Language Processing and MLOps for production environments.

Previous experience with Platform as a service (PaaS) such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).

Understanding or desire to learn end to end Machine Learning technology stack (Tools such as Domino Data Labs, Kubeflow, Kubernetes, SeldonCore, GCP, Jupyer Notebook, HPC, Hive, Hadoop).

Strong soft skills of communication, ability to share/teach others, work collaboratively with others etc.

Good understanding of cloud design considerations and limitations and impact of pricing.

Prior experience working with container technology, docker files, docker images, GitHub, CI/CD concepts.

Experience in all phases of the development lifecycle.

Must be team-oriented and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Good organizational and time-management skills.

Must be a self-starter to understand existing bottlenecks and come up with innovative solutions.

Open to learning new technology.

Knowledge of coding and best practices.
