Union Payroll Specialist – Remote


This is a Contract position in Las Vegas, NV posted May 11, 2022.

Work with appropriate personnel to resolve issues.+ Process weekly and off-cycle payrolls for several unions timely and accurately.+ Work under general supervision from supervisor.+ Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed timely.+ Prepare special payments, complex pay and payroll deduction calculations ensuring compliance with company policies, union contracts and federal and state regulations. + Identify, research, and assist in the resolution of payroll related discrepancies. + Reconcile payroll and validate confirmed reports prior to submitting payroll for closing and dispersing.+ Understand proper taxation of all employee payments including employer paid benefits.+ Stay current on regulatory, legal and other payroll developments to foresee and/or address payroll initiatives and issues. + Research and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with employees and departments.+ Prepare employee documentation for scanning or filing. Ensure records are maintained according to record retention requirements.+ Prepare stop payments, void checks, direct deposit reversals and overpayment collections in accordance with company, federal, state and union regulations. Education/Experience+ Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) desired+ High school diploma or GED required+ Three to five years multi-state payroll processing experience+ Solid understanding and working knowledge of payroll processes and systems, particularly in a union environment+ Strong knowledge of state and federal payroll regulationsSkills/Competencies:+ MS Office and computer skills+ Excellent organizational skills+ Excellent reading and interpretation skills+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills+ Ability to maintain confidential information+ High degree of professionalism and solid ability in delivering high quality customer service and establishing/maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships.+ Excellent judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills+ Ability to work independently and as a team playerBENEFITS:Our team members are our family, so we help our team members care for their families.
