Human Resources & Payroll Director

Human Resources & Payroll DirectorLocation: ESF Headquarters, Bryn Mawr, PAThe Human Resources and Payroll Director works directly with the Controller and CFO to ensure that all human resource processes and payroll functions for the multi-location organization are carried out in an effective, efficient, and timely manner to ensure compliance.

This position plays a key role in the organization’s human capital management strategy by managing the human resource functions, including but not limited to on-boarding, compensation & benefits strategies, and record keeping.

HUMAN RESOURCES FUNCTIONSManages benefits plans, including payroll and benefits enrollments, changes, terminations.

Ensures proper payroll deductions are processed through the organization’s payroll system.

Processes all aspects of employee information from initial payroll and benefits enrollment process to termination including data entry into payroll, timekeeping, and benefits carrier systems to ensure accurate record keeping.

Participates in various HR workflows (including, but not limited to, I-9 forms, EEO tracking, employee benefit program, workers compensation claims, unemployment forms, COBRA administration, etc.) by compiling, filing, and distributing appropriate electronic and physical paperwork Conducts audits of benefits, personnel files, and recommends corrective action.

Implements corrective actions as directed.

Conducts benefits testing as required; including, but not limited to, 401k and cafeteria plan non-discrimination testing.

Assists with the preparation of the performance review process, including 360 reviews.

Ensures all up-to-date legal postings are placed in a designated area within established timeframes at all locations.

Administers workers compensation claims from beginning to end, ensuring appropriate return to workSeasonal recruitingPAYROLL FUNCTIONSConducts all aspects of bi-weekly payroll process with oversight and input from Controller and CFO; including collecting and reviewing timesheets, importing hours, reviewing overtime, updating benefits deductions, managing taxation on pre-tax deductions, and verifying payroll for all salaried and hourly employees.Coordinates with Controller to post payroll journal entry in accounting software.

Maintains timekeeping system with accurate organization codes and pay rates.Prepares payroll reports as needed for audits and management.Research, analyze, and help resolve payroll discrepancies.Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.Ensure proper use and protection of information assets by complying with the organization’s information privacy and security policies to protect assets from unauthorized access.Performs additional tasks as assigned.POSITION REQUIREMENTSMinimum three years of related multi-state payroll experience preferred.Minimum three years of related benefits coordination experience.Commitment to payroll best practices and regulations including knowledge of payroll law/regulations.

The ability and desire to exercise sound judgment and exhibit strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.Displays exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills, with particular attention to confidentiality.Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.Associates degree in a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.Must be a detail-oriented individualMust be proficient in Microsoft Excel
