Position Purpose Summary: BlueLinx is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to partner with a Regional Human Resources Business Partner and leaders/employees throughout the business to ensure human resource policies and programs are aligned and administered appropriately based on BlueLinx’ overall HR and talent strategies.

Administers core human resources policies, processes and practices related to talent management, employee relations, labor/union relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, and organizational/individual development.

FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, Title VII, ADA, EEOC, ADEA, FSLA, OSHA, etc.)Investigates and resolves employee relations issues.

Represent the company, when needed, at unemployment hearingsProvides assistance to supervisors and managers for new hire onboarding, payroll corrections, changes and additional manager self-service transactionsCoach both employees and managers on correct interpretation and administration of company policiesAssist management in maintaining positive employee relations by assessing the internal employee climate and partnering with leadership to ensure employee engagementDelivers internal communication materials regarding benefits, compensation, and other business/human resources policies and proceduresAssists with the coordination and communication of employee events and HR initiativesAccurately maintains data and compiles reports that contain confidential informationConducts New Hire orientationAdministers company-wide programs such as random drug tests, service awards, MVR, etc…Respond to and manage unemployment claims Qualifications: Ability to make recommendations that effectively resolve problems and/or issues by using judgment consistent with HR standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or governmental lawKnowledge of HR Best PracticesStrong knowledge of company policies, labor laws and regulations relating to all employment functions Knowledge of HRIS and ATS systems; proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant tools/technology 2 – 5 years in human resources related area of responsibilityBachelor’s degree SHRM-SCP or PHR preferredPrior experience supporting logistics and/or DOT employee’s preferred
