Position: Charge Registered Nurse Critical Care Department: Rapid Response Shift: PRN POSITION SUMMARY: The RN Charge Rapid Response provides critical care expertise to all adult patients experiencing unexpected life threating conditions or rapid deterioration using a consultative and supportive approach. Facilitates care until patient is stable or transferred to a higher level of care while the primary nurse retains responsibility. Provides formal and informal education and training to nursing staff as a subject matter expert, mentoring nurses throughout the hospital. Performs delegated medical functions within the nurse practice act, policies, procedures and protocols. Initiates emergency protocols independently following BLS and ACLS guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred License/Cert: • Current license to practice, as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada required. • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required • CPI within ninety (90) days of hire/transfer and maintained • National Certification – Preferred Experience: • Two (2) years critical care experience required Special Skills: • CCRN preferred
