Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Nebraska Medicine is seeking a talented individual to join us as a Medical Social Worker for our Inpatient setting Position Highlights: Benefit of being part of a large Social Work department led by Social Workers.

Fast paced position coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to discharge patients to the next level of care.

Supportive counseling in relation to adjustment of acute medical events Experience in medical setting preferred but not required.

Shift: This is a casual position for weekdays and weekend coverage.

First shift 8:00AM
– 4:30PM, Monday

This position will support the Solid Organ Transplant, Bone Marrow Stem Cell transplant and Inpatient Pediatric services to address personal and/or environmental difficulties which predispose illness or interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from medical care.

Be a part of a consultative service to focus on the social, psychological, rehabilitative, protective and financial needs of patients to coordinate care.

Required Qualifications: Minimum of two years of experience in social work or human services required.

Bachelor’s degree in social work required.

Knowledge of professional guidelines regarding confidentiality of client and staff information required.

Competent in the use of a variety of computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word required.

Ability to work effectively with diverse patient groups and their families required.

Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing required.

Must demonstrate personal traits of a high-level commitment, motivation and energy, team orientation, and professionalism required.

Ability to work independently required.

Strong analytical skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:.

Master’s Social Work degree preferred.

Knowledge of health care services and resources preferred.
