Medical Assistant – Acute / Outpatient Therapy

This is a Part-time position in Las Vegas, NV posted June 17, 2022.

Regional One Health is currently seeking a Medical Assistant for our Acute / Outpatient Therapy Department .

JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position is responsible for assisting providers and other members of the health care team in providing high quality patient care.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant program.

EXPERIENCE: One (1) consecutive year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant preferred LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: Current documentation of a national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or for the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT).

Must also have current CPR certification.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Knowledge of current Medical Assistant principles and protocols (clinical and clerical) Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, universal precautions, environmental safety and patient confidentiality Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records in an electronic medical record.

Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations Ability to appropriately and professionally interact with patients, families, staff and others Ability to adapt to changing demands; ability to plan, organize, prioritize and complete delegated tasks; ability to communicate clearly.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent walking and standing, lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies.

Heavy Work
– Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
