Southern Hills Hospital is located in Southwest Las Vegas just off the I-215 and Durango/Sunset exit. POSITION SUMMARY:

The RN Critical Care ECT is a registered professional nurse who participates as an active member of the Nursing Team.  The RN assumes responsibility for coordinating safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective nursing care for all patients. 

The RN may also work in the capacity of relief charge nurse in addition to being a clinical nurse providing care for patients for an assigned time.

The RN maintains current competency with nursing skills and demonstrates knowledge regarding Standards of Care and Standards of Practice.  The RN demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth & development over life span, and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of patient status, and to interpret the data appropriately to identify patient requirements specific to the patient s age.

The RN remains calm in crisis and emergency situations, and directs staff members effectively and appropriately. The RN maintains professional and effective working relationships with all members of the health care team.

The RN is a role model for staff and other departments and demonstrates customer service excellence in relationships with patients, families, physicians and employees.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • BSN strongly preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in an acute care facility
  • Minimum of 1 year recent critical care experience
  • PACU or recovery experience
  • Demonstrated ability to establish interpersonal relationships necessary to promote an effective working environment

Certification/License:

  • Current Nevada license to practice Nursing required.  Independently maintains license.  Acquires required contact hours to maintain practice.
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
