Responsibilities: Managing inventory accounting cycle, including coordinating the monthly inventory count process, reviewing count sheets, journal entry preparation and submission, and preparation of appropriate supportTake ownership of inventory GL accounts and ensure accuracy, understanding, and consistency of application and compliance with GAAPReconcile and maintain the integrity of the assigned inventory accounts.Create, upload, and modify accounting entries into accounting system and maintain workpapers in accordance with GAAP and company policies and proceduresDocument internal controls surrounding the tasks performed to ensure completion of close checklistEstablish productive relationships within the accounting team and other departmentsCommunicate with operations/field to resolve variances, fulfill ad hoc requests and provide guidance on process expectations (count sheet and inventory receipt compliance)Report PO exceptions and status to operations on a routine basis to identify purchasing tendencies Provide accurate and timely responses to requests from internal customers including accounting, finance, and operationsAssist with other ad-hoc project as necessary Qualifications: Bachelors degree with a focus in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience 1 to 2 years of accounting experience preferred Experience working on inventory accounting strongly preferredExperience obtaining and analyzing data from an ERP and database management systems (Workday experience preferred, but not required)Proficient with Excel (including experience with pivot tables)Strong analytical and quantitative skillsAbility to leverage technology for efficient data gathering and analysisCandidate should be effective in time management of scheduleAbility to multi-task while working on a high-paced environment Candidate should be capable of managing deadlines and accurately processing data under time limited restraintsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesCandidate should have strong interpersonal skills for interacting with other departments, vendors, and upper management.
