Executive Director Finance

Resorts World Las Vegas

This is a Contract position in Las Vegas, NV posted May 8, 2022.

The Executive Director of Finance is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting, and for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position provides leadership and direction to the Financial Controller, Accounts Payable Manager, Inventory Control Manager, Accounts Receivable Manager, and Payroll Manager. All responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with all laws and regulations, as well as Resorts World Las Vegas policies, practices, and procedures.

Primary Job Responsibilities – Includes but, is not limited to:

  • Adhere to deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation.
  • Generate accurate and timely monthly financial statements and manage the month-end close process.
  • Review journal entries and maintain balance sheet schedules and ledgers.
  • Review monthly account reconciliations.
  • Manage P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
  • Manage payroll team to ensure timely and correct payroll and related taxes are processed.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
  • Prepare internal reporting package, including variance analysis and summary of financial results.
  • Conduct projects or analysis assigned by the SVP of Finance.
  • Maintain internal accounting controls.
  • Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Provide leadership on financing transactions, and partner with the Director of Financial Reporting to resolve all GAAP and technical accounting issues.
  • Oversee the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Inventory Control, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll teams.

  • Communicate problems or discrepancies to management in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Manage Human Resources responsibilities to include quality hiring and training, staff motivation, feedback and development, promotions, discipline, and terminations.
  • Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing.
  • Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • At least five years of Accounting experience in a similar environment.
  • At least two year of leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance.
  • Strong technical U.S. GAAP accounting knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of General Ledger practices and protocol.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Polished appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to successfully mentor and lead a team.
  • At least 21 years of age.

Preferred:

  • At least five years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Previous CPA and Big 4 Accounting or similar experience.
  • Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
