SummaryThe Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the foundation, developing long-term operational strategies, and the direct management of staff and volunteers.

The Director of Operations will work closely with the Board of Directors to meet the objectives.

Rockdale Emergency Relief is a well-known community non-profit with over 52 years of experience that seeks a Director that enjoys working with clients to meet their food, utility, and rent needs.

Funding and donations are the key components to making it all work, so experience interacting with the public and donors is important.

The position would require fundraising activities several times per year.

A dedicated Board of Directors helps guide the goals of the organization.

The food bank is open several days per week and occasionally at night or on the weekend.

This is a role that is ideal for someone that has the drive to serve clients who are in temporary situations that require gap funding.

The small office setting includes one full-time office assistant and many volunteers The daily schedule allows us to fulfill client visits for food or rent and utility assistance.

The ability to research and write grants is a plusDutiesPrepare a strategy for successfully working with people who are working to get out of poverty and help move them to self-reliance.

Recruit agency partners for financial and volunteer support.

Organize food deliveries and community events to promote awareness.

Program development and administration: Assure that RER has a service-oriented operational strategy that achieves its mission Provide leadership in developing the program, organizational and financial plans with the Board of Directors and staff, and carry out plans and policies authorized by the board Promote active and broad participation by volunteers in all areas of RER work Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with regulations Establish and maintain relationships within the community to fiscally support RER and aid in the welfare of its client base.

Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field Creates a fundraising plan and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting proposals, and documenting donations Develop a fundraising strategy to aid the organization in meeting its annual budgetary goals.RequirementsOutgoing personality and passion for helping people is key.

Organization and self-initiative are a must in this small work environment and a strong work ethic complements the opportunities to serve others in this Director role.

Strong management and supervisory skills and experience in non-profit organization Knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, strong conflict resolution and decision-making skills Demonstrates leadership ability in strategizing, Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create efficiency and support the foundation Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of college and related experience is required.
