Accounting Manager, Raider Image

As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the management and oversight of the daily Accounting Operations for The Raider Image.

This position will monitor and analyze accounting data, produce financial reports and statements, and establish proper accounting methods and policies.

This position will also provide input and counsel on The Raider Image initiatives and strategy utilizing data and analysis that they have reviewed and researched.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

Essential Job Functions
Oversee the operations of the Raider Image accounting department to ensure achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
Manage all functions of the accounting department, which includes month and year end processes, cash receipts, accounts payable/receivable, capital assets reconciliations, fixed asset activity, merchant and bank account statement reconciliations and assist in forecasting.
Responsible for the constant improvement of the accounts payable process utilizing Metaviewer and D365 software.
Oversee a multitude of accounting activities including monthly journal entry preparation, depreciation schedules, annual 1099 processing and support of financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and budget activities.
Assist in the development and management of accounting principles, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
Along with the VP, Merchandising, participate in reviewing the viability for new revenue ideas.
Complete the coordination and completion of annual audits.
Audit accounting systems and procedures and recommend and implement process changes.
Manage the accurate, reliable, and timely reporting of the daily store cash reconciliation and posting process.
Audit store cash and receiving monthly; inform senior management if there are any discrepancies.
Monthly creation of a directional P&L by Store, Ecommerce and Stadium along with recommendations for action.
Manage the dating and physical copies of all lease records for all leased spaces.
Perform onsite store cash audit and store visits; inform senior management of any areas of concern.
Responsible for the compilation of monthly and ad hoc reporting to senior leaders and creation of monthly ‘routine’ reports for review by the Controller and Vice President of Merchandising, Raider Image.
Partner with VP, Merchandising on appropriate fiscal strategies for the organization and evaluate assigned account’s business processes to provide recommendations for automation and enhancements that generate additional revenue.
Create new bank accounts and GL accounts for new store locations
Responsible for posting all online gift card usage and booking of gift card promotion entries to assign costs to correct accounts.
Apply federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to accounting and auditing work.
Prepare and file Board of Equalization Sales and Use tax and other local and state reporting.
Assist with New Store Openings to ensure timely store openings including setting up bank accounts, merchant orders and ordering bank supplies.
Monitor industry accounting trends to establish and implement best practices.
All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Relevant certification (CPA), a plus.
Minimum of five (5) years of general Accounting experience required.
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Familiarity with financial accounting statements required
Experience using Metaviewer and D365 software preferred
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively multi-task daily with shifting priorities.
Ability to work independently, exercise judgment and make sound decisions that will have a financial impact on the company.
Must have strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced ever-changing environment
Strong Microsoft Office suite skills (Highly proficient using Excel required)
Ability to work extended hours and flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed

Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to):
Sitting for long periods of time throughout shift
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 10lbs
Occasional walking, standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
